Is it OK with you that 50 million Americans do not have ANY Health cover?
Temmuz 15, 2010 | Health
And even those that think they have cover are denied care by the Insurance Companies when they actually get sick…..
Is it OK to pay and think you have Cover until you actually have to claim and find every obstacle put in your path…..

No. Is it okay that you have an avatar of a pedophile? No.
No.
Nor is ok to have me pay for their health coverage.
Yes.
Yes.
doesn’t bother me
this place is full of Republicans and Conservatives, and NO they do NOT care about any other Americans.. they only care about themselves.
No, it is not ok. Not ok at all.
I am in favor of health insurance reform.
Yes. WE ALL HAVE THE SAME OPPORTUNITIES !!!!!!!!
The number keeps growing with each retelling. How long will it be before The One and his minions claim that nobody has any coverage at all?
That’s a problem the government needs to fix with the insurance companies. You don’t take coverage that 250 million people are happy with to address the issues of some who either don’t want insurance or are here illegally.
with 60 percent of them, it is their choice. 30 percent of the remaining 40 percent are illegals who don’t deserve it. so, only about 10 percent can be classified as “not having access”. Limiting Insurance Companies will take care of that.
Less than 6% of those people can’t afford it. The rest can either afford it, have access to it or refuse it. I am OK with that.
Do you actually sit at home at night worrying about how your neighbor is going to pay their bills? I don’t. I worry about myself, my family and those I love….period.
No, but becuase it’s not doesn’t make it Ok for the government to hold me at gun point to pay for it either. I care, and I think we should try and find a solution, but a government take over of health care is under no circumstances to be that solution. God bless.
That is a lie.
The Democrat number is 47 million.
12 million of those are illegal
= 35 million
11 million of those make between 50k and 70k (and can afford it)
=24 million
of those, about 8 million qualify for Medicaid and haven’t signed up
=16 million
Now, if we expand Medicaid to cover those 16, and leave the 240 million who have it or don’t want it alone… I think that would be a great first step!
no but there is nothing we can do but complain it dosent matter…the old saying stands true “The Rich Get Richer and The Poor Get Poorer”
and americans pull our NHS here in UK to pieces, they are just jealous
Your number of 50 million is not accurate.
Check your facts ……….the 20 million illegals in this country are not Americans !
No. but I can’t afford to pay for my health care and several other people also. I particularly can’t afford to pay for people who will never cover their share because they start pumping out 6-8 non-productive babies, who eat up health care, just about the time they become productive.
…it is proven that number is a farce…the actually number of Americans who can not afford health insurance is only about 12 million…the rest can afford it but chose not to buy it, are eligible for Government help but don’t sign up, or are Illegal Aliens…so we should change everything completely for 3% of our population?
@ Republicans Suck: I think we can say that all americans (republican or democrat) are selfish brats and only care about themselves.
Personally, I don’t know enough on the subject to have a real opinion, but considering the fact that those with health care get denied most of the time anyway, it doesn’t seem to matter.
No it is not and it is not ok with me that under the current health care system in this country we are already paying for the uninsured. It is not ok that people are doing everything possible to prevent the insured from paying less for our own coverage.
( In no way am I assuming your stance on anything in my answer)
Your number of 50 million is even more exaggerated than the already inflated 40 million. It is more in line with 8-18 million.
An even more broken system is not the answer. How big of an obstacle is applying to a government board to have a procedure done? What if the government doesn’t think you need it? At least with private insurance you can shop around for the health policy that will fit your needs.
It’s not okay. It hasn’t been okay for a long time. Our system is on the brink of extinction and all people who are ill informed can do is protest.
All americans with health insurance right now are one serious illness away from bankruptcy. I have a wonderful PPO, but if I were no longer employes, what would I do if I can’t afford Cobra payments on unemployment? It scares me to think of “what if” and that’s where our nation stands on health care right now, “what if”
I’d probably run to the ER like every other person without insurance and break the system even further. It’s a vicious circle. It’s time to come together and work at this, but of course, health insurances/lobbyist won’t benefit from the american public coming together on health insurance, so they use their scare tactics and they seem to be working a few, but not the majority. We want healthcare for “ALL” hard working americans.
Wow.. this is so wrong, I don’t even know where to start.
First of all, NO ONE in America is denied medical CARE. They may not have private insurance, but it is illegal for a hospital to deny CARE….. so the premise of your question is completely in error to begin with.
Secondly, of the 50 million that Obama and the Libs talk about… 15 million are ILLEGAL ALIENS, another 10 million are LEGAL aliens or foreign nationals (who should have coverage from their HOME countries/companies). Three are another 5-10 million who CAN afford insurance, but OPT not to buy it because they are young, healthy, or simply not interested.
So out of your big “50 million Americans” number, the REAL number of those “in need” AND “worthy” (no, I do NOT think illegal aliens are WORTHY of my tax dollars!)…. the real number of people who NEED help paying for insurance is NO GREATER THAN 10 million.
10 million out of 306 million US citizens?…. that’s LESS THAN 4% of our country!!!
Obama is willing to DESTROY our entire health care system to help pay for about 3.5% of Americans without INSURANCE??
Are you people INSANE to support something like this?
On your TV watch a movie/ thing called Sicko it explains eveything. It is NEVER ok. When people don’t want to pay a few 1,000 dollars for a surgery then the person ends up dying again pleasewatch Sicko.
It bothers me that they want handouts… we capitalized on our oportunities. you cant say its not fair when people who started up with rough lifes are successful. and some born rich slack off and end up living a dissapointing life. sometimes its pure chance that ruins everything you work for but the show must go on. everything happens for a reason. Its all about living your life and i don’t mind helping people out but when they just expect it to be given to them. I know our healthcare is far from perfect but i haven’t been convinced the government can do any better since they are avoiding the medicare problem that already exists and using healthcare for everyone as a cover up
We all currently pay for the uninsured, and their care is usually more expensive. I want everyone to have to pay for their own insurance, if it means a sliding scale or cafeteria coverage it would be better than all of us picking up the tab and some getting off scott free.
Is it OK that even if the House bill gets passed that 19million people still will not be covered, and that businesses that choose to keep their current coverage will be charged a tax on top of that. And is it OK with you that Insurance companies can get sued and loose a lot of money if they do deny coverage and that if the government takes over health care no one will be able to sue when the government turns them down for the reason of cost cutting? I suggest you read the bill you want passed and check that it will actually take care of the point you are trying to make, but with your grammar I have a feeling you won’t understand the legal terms and all in the bill so you need to have someone who can read it explain it to you. People who think Obama’s plan is a cure all need to read the fine print.
I don’t think that figure is accurate. Some of those people do not want health insurance. They could afford it if they wanted, but choose not to get it. Secondly, a number of those people didn’t have insurance when the survey was taken, but do have it now. Some of the people in that figure are not American citizens, but illegal immigrants.
No I do not think it is ok for people with insurance to have their claims denied. I am in favor of legislation forcing insurance companies to cover the insured and to do so in spite of preexisting conditions. Insurance companies were part of the bail out, were they not? Anyway, they can take a smaller profit and do a better job.
HOwever, I am opposed to Obamacare because I do not want the government to have that kind of control and the cost of it is outrageous. For much less money, the current systems could be expanded. Actually, there are a lot of other options which I won’t list here.
Your numbers are exaggerated. The number is lower then that with approximately 17 million of those uninsured are illegal aliens and a similar number makes 50K a year and just don’t buy health insurance.
It is also not okay to force me into a plan and make me pay for some slackers insurance. For crying out load I and my entire family are covered. My wife and I get ours through work and we pay for our kids insurance, why the heck can’t people take care of their own freaking private lives? That’s what blows my mind.
It’s also not okayy that the Government wants to increase it’s controloverr people’s private lives. It’s also not okay that they want to grow government. It’s also not okay that they can’t even explain how they plan to pay for thisboondogglee. It’s also not okay that they dismiss the majority of Americans (53% of us) that are opposed to this as a few malcontents.
85% of Americans have health coverage. I don’t want to be forced to pay to support other people – unless it is my choice. Is it ok, that people suffer all over the world in general? Maybe we should pay for the world to have health care because after all, we are wealthier than lots of other places in the world. (Many of this number you gave includes people from other parts of the world anyway, i.e. illegal immigrants.) The problem is, is that you can’t “force” people to pay for others. It doesn’t work because then the hard workers just decide its easier to be lazy if they can just take hand outs from others. Socialism reduces productivity.
There are also tons of Americans who don’t have luxuries that other Americans have. Should we make those who have pay for the have-nots to make sure everyone has the same luxuries? Because otherwise it just isn’t fair right?
Of course it is not ok. Think about the things that our taxes go towards now. A senseless war, dirty politicians, and what not. I am perfectly fine with paying for someone else’s health care considering what I am paying for now. If this country would outlaw lobbying and tax the heck out of American corporations sending jobs to other nations we wouldn’t have the crisis we have now. The problem with Health Insurance companies is they tie the hands of doctors and patients. If a doctor could do what he felt was necessary without having to follow arbitrary rules set by the heath insurance companies health insurance would be so much cheaper and therefore more accessable. To change our current health care system all we have to do is strip the health insurance companies of the power to dictate what doctors do. The two most corrupt business types in America are Banks and Insurance companies. If these two did not have politicians in their back pockets courtesy of lobbyists everyone’s life in America would be a lot better. I would know I have worked in these industries. In the end our government should be protecting the people not the interests of their cronies. Until that changes our health care system will never work.
I will answer you question with these questions
How many of those 50 million American that do not have Health coverage;
1) Simply out of work or in-between jobs because of the economy?
2)Young adults who feel they do not need health care or do not feel it is necessary?
3) How many of that number aren’t really citizens but immigrants that got included in the poll (they didn’t check for citizenships). The phrase used by Obama was that 50 million people in America, not 50 million Americans.
Many individuals feel they should not pay for Health Care. That it should be provided by their work and only have to pay a small premium.
Why is it that many people will lease an expensive car for $400 or $800 a month but are unwilling to pay for health care?
I’m not a rich guy but i pay for my own health care. I pay a lot for my health care because i view it as a priority and necessity. I can see the doctor whenever i want and get the best service.
With this government health care, i would have to pay more than i’m paying now and get not nearly as good of service. I would be rationed health care with no option of saying, i will pay more if you just give me service.
We live in democracy where you get what you pay for. This isn’t socialism where everyone has the same things but its close to nothing.
Do i think we should reform health care? Yes because there are some problems. But i don’t think the government should be in total control over it and kick out the private health care through strict regulations (HR 3200-Grandfathered in Provision- Read page 30)
Democracy is not about Government Power. The US Government could have easily reformed tort law and the legal liabilities of doctors that drive up health care costs. The US Government could easily make it acceptable for you to buy out of state insurance and go to the cheapest insurance companies to increase competition. (opposed to how it is now where you cant buy out of state health insurance). There are many ideas out there.
I have another question. When it comes to pollution that are emitted by private companies. How America decided to setup the EPA(environmental protection agency) to regulate pollution, instead of creating a law to take the entire private sector? Why can’t we simply setup up a government agency that regulates the Health Insurance companies, instead of trying to take them over?
